Page 2 of 2 Korg of synthesizers shot out this year the M3 workstation and Microkorg-like R3 based on OASYS and RADIAS respectively. Also we mention the new concept for building the synth systems - "keyboard+module". ![]() Korg M3 workstation
![]() Analog-modeling synthesizer-vocoder Korg R3 «The reds coming!». Clavia made two interesting keyboard products this year. For the first came double manual organ C3, in some time renamed to Nord C1, and then for the secons, on the Musikmesse, came an analog-modelling-and-sample synthesizer called Nord Wave.

2007 also brought to us some new digital pianos from Roland, Casio, new MIDI-controllers from Edirol, CME. But one of the most eye-catching was the return of the classics. Even if we do not count the hardware switching of virtual classic synths like Moog, Prophet from Arturia and the above-mentioned Rhodes piano, there are two more things worth the story. First is the new analog synth Moog Little Phatty Stage Edition - the product for masses from the cult company, almost classic-looking synthisizer. And we DO not forget Dave Smith and his new Prophet'08 announced and shipped almost immediately. Bravo!
Well, we saw a lot of new stuff this year. Whether 2007 was meant to be the "return of the classics" year? Hard to say so, we'll have to wait until the end of 2008 to see that, and still have hope that it will be as interesting. We wish everyone good synth mood and keyboard progress! |
