Power socket is also situated not far away from this - make a note. Well even if we disconnect some wires, it's easy to repair, the captions on the board are informative.

5. Two grounds and one hot wire +5V. Not soo good for us :(

Yeah, some trouble here. The car reader needs both +5 and +12 voltages (if you believe the marks on it's housing). The socket with such supply I found after some research on the Audio Board. Make anothe note. Maybe some future enthusiasts will find better and shorter way to get the power...

6. The socket we found is placed between the Kurzweil K2000 audio outs

Time to screw in the car reader. And we get a pretty bug here! The Microtech PCD-47B is a little longer than the floppy, and the power molex is out of bounds, no chance to fit k2000 housing there. Well, anyway, we had a good start :(.

7. Such placement could prevent k2000 to be back in the original form :)

A first try to make it right - I cut the molex' backside. I get it but no success - it's still too long, easy to rock and jump out of socket at last and there's deformation in the wires. OK, we go further.

8. No easy way trimming down the molex from the other side. And the result is worthless

Thus we go other lo-fi way, eliminating the lower plastic side of power socket on the card reader. Success.

9. The overall look is not aesthetic, but that's for reliability.
