The newly born Kurzweil Music Systems website, pleasing all the Kurzweil fans, points us to some changes in their keyboard model line. Changes are mostly cosmetic and affect the future and existing product names. So the stage piano Kurzweil SP2 is already in shops as Kurzweil SP2X, and a flagship workstation PC3, coming in the next few months (winter) will be marketed as Kurzweil PC3X. But that's not all, folks...

Such a «misspelling» gives us a huge hope that a company (having a success with these models) will put in production some modifications (for example with a semi-weighted keyboard action). So we alredy have on our minds some fantastic names like Kurzweil PC361, PC376 (ok, I got it, PC3 SE ;) ).

Besides the official site regarding the new models' features (which we have already mentioned mentioned ) - more than 800 factory patches, Classic Keys ROM by default and the new String Section ROM, 16 insert effects, enhanced tonewheel organ KB3 emulation — there are some new moments which give us more inspiration about this $3k keyboard.

What's more to the WNAMM news - instead of "expanded PC2 clone" new PC3X gives to the future owners the following - full V.A.S.T. with user algorythms feature. Plus the features from the flagship K26XX series and  Kurzweil VA1 prototype will also be included. Looks promising.

BTW, Kurzweil R&D, giving it a moder way, started blog on MySpace. So let's wish them happy posting.
