The newly born MPK49 keyboard from AKAI is shown at the Musikmesse. The device features 12 drum pads, like the ones in MPC series.
Also like MPC phrase samplers / drum machines, these have Note Repeat and Swing functions, and the controller itself features in-built arpeggiator. This provides fills and rhythms are created in seconds. There are 4 banks avaliable for all 12 pads, so the overall number of controlled instruments is 48. The keyboard is four-octave long, supports aftertouch. The controller functions are devoted to 8 endless knobs, 8 slides and 8 switches, each controller has 3 parameter banks. The device is equipped with rather big LCD and all of those numerous controllers reside in a very compact way. More on AKAI MPK49: |
