One of most memorable products on this year's WNAMM - Korg M3 workstation.
This keyboard instrument represents third generation of Korg workstations and includes elements of the flagship and expensive OASYS. Hope "affordable" means it will cost less than it's bigger papa. Besides OASYS engine parts device is equipped with KARMA, and there's an extension 24-voice MMT board providing RADIAS and R3 clone here. 256 MB of wave memory hold"best-of" OASYS ROM, 512 programs, 384 combinations while the overall number is 1664 programs and 1792 combinations. Color TouchView™ display is also used as a sound and effects controller. Besides the navigation here are 8 sliders and switches, 8 velocity-sensitive pads, joystick and Ribbon Controller. The in-built sequencer resolution is 480 PPQ. Sampler memory in box - 64 MB, extended to 320. Korg M3 is avaliable in 61-, 73-key semi-weighted and 88-key hammer action (RH3) versions, every one has aftertouch, also there's module M3-M which needs some more light here. The new design concept - Korg Komponent System - states that keyboard and sound-generating modules are independent components. So 61-key M3 may use M3-M, or RADIAS-R modules. 73-key configuration is able to hold M3 and RADIAS together, as for 88-key - M3/RADIAS combination or as much as two M3 modules. Well, we need to wait until June 2007 to see it. More on topic: http://www..._no=M3&category_id=1 http://www...mdisplay.php?forumid=191 Demo: |
