There are new models of stage and home digital pianos at Winter NAMM show 2008. Sure, we talk about Roland's new ones.
The main difference of GX series and it's predessor RD-700SX и RD-300SX lies - of course, what did you think? - in features and sounds. The top of the line RD-700 GX is equipped with top-notch Roland PHA II Ivory Feel keyboard action. It has an expansion ability with SRX cards, but the main thing is RD-700GX includes Electric Piano from brand new ARX SuperNATURAL card with electropiano modelling technology. Not to forget here - the piano already has tonewheel organ emulation inside. The other positive things are three MIDI outputs, 4-band master equalizer and compressor.
The lighter RD-300GX also looks nice. Compared to 25 kgs of upper RD-700GX , the 16 kgs and PHA alpha II, keyboard of RD-300GX and improved screen fit just right here. Both pianos have the ability to play MIDI and audio (WAV, MP3) files from USB flash drive and use a lower octave for triggering sounds ( "Audio Key" mode). In addidion to stage models there's also a home piano DP-990 featuring the same PHA II keyboard, nice cover lid and the same USB functionality.
