How to make an ordinary sampling synth a unique one? The Swedish Clavia knows the secret - and continues to emulate the classical keyboards of the past. And now we've got Mellotron.

If you believe the Clavia's official site and read the press release placed there, the manufacturer goes non-traditional way. Instead of sampling the original (yeah, you right, it seems boring in 2007 :) ) they'll use the Mellotron original master tapes in the upcoming Nord Wave . Sounds good, but looks a lot like marketing feature. Well, we'll see in time when we get chance to taste the real thing. Let the Mellotron and peace be with us! For now we have just some demos of the new synth.

"sampled trumpet - the sound is tweaked in real-time"

"sampled persian santur, as well as a classic analog lead. At the end, the lead is tweaked into a drone like sound as it is modulated by a sampled accordion(!)"

"custom loop with some filters and overdrive, and adding some analog stuff as well as a some oscillator modulation using a Mellotron violin sample (multi-track recording)"
