SP-555 is targeted at DJs and "loop based performers" (wow, sounds cool, to memories ). The box has 16 velocity-sensitive pads, 37 Fantom-class effects and strongly marketed LOOP CAPTURE function, which allows to sample audio on the fly and allows effects tweaking in realtime.
The in-built memory allows to sample up to 6 min, but it can be Compact Flash extended (up to 2 GB), the sounds from card go directly to mix. Effects include Voice Transformer, Delay and Isolator, also new Super Filter, Amp Simulator, Step Ring Modulator and DJ FX Looper. Besides them good old V-Link and D-Beam are included (what will we do without them? :) ). there's an USB-MIDI/AUDIO interface onboard and some cool SP-404 features: tap tempo, low-fi sampling mode, in-biult mic.
The price will be around  $600.
